Easton's Birthday

Love celebrating my sweet boy's birthday! I tried to prepare myself in advance for him turning two, so the day wouldn't feel like such a toddler milestone had been reached. The month before, we took his high chair down and started putting him at the table with us, we converted his crib to a toddler bed, we started peeing in the potty, and I started addressing him as "Easton" instead of "the baby". Oh man, it was tough. Hannah nailed it on the head when she said, "Don't grow up, but I like this stage better." YES!

Tammy made this fabulously delicious cake like she did last year. Butter pecan with some sort of cream cheese frosting. Oh my goodness.....

For games we had a bean bag toss, a tractor for the kids to have their pictures with, and a craft table with wooden picture frames for the kids to decorate. One thing I didn't consider was how stinky real life tractors are. Whoops. Nobody- and I don't blame them- wanted to be near the tractor.

Rich found the skip-it     ;)

Sawyer didn't need any help making the bean bags in!!

I don't have many pictures because I used my video camera the whole time. I wanted to get that precious face on video as we all sang to him. It was so cute that we did it again the next day on his real birthday.

Daddy was feeling a little left out being on crutches and needed some extra loving before bed.

The next morning, he opened our presents.

Can't believe how quickly these 2 years have flown by, and it makes me ever the more grateful I've been able to be at home with him to watch all these milestones pass. Love you Eastie Peastie!

I lost it....revised (Easton turns 2)

If you're looking for that emotional post, I've deleted it. I was way wrong to vent on such a public venue and regret not cooling my jets first! Here's the revised version-

Sweet little Easton's party fell during a busy time this year. Heath had just had knee surgery and I was in between classes and I am so thankful for those that helped with this bday party!

The day after surgery, Mrs. Judy came to the rescue and brought us a FEAST to eat off of for the week. I've never seen so much food walk in my front door in my life and I had no idea how much I was going to come to appreciate it. Between keeping up with my "normal duties" but adding classes and Heath's immobility in the mix brought a fresh appreciation of all the church family and friends that stepped up, and helped. Our neighbor mowed our lawn (thanks Josh), a friend came and helped return some tables/chairs/games for us that had been sitting in our garage (thanks Rich), another church family made us dinner another night (thanks Debbie), we received endless calls/texts/prayers sent our way from our friends that we SO appreciated.

 Happy 2nd Birthday, Easton!!!

Easter

I love how good-looking my boys can be when they dress up! Warning: this post comes with a lot of pictures.

Getting ready

So handsome

Precious!

I know I'll love this when Cory's taller!

When I told them to get closer to the wall.....

At church

It is SO hard to get 1 picture of us all together, facing the camera, and smiling. Please share with me how you manage with your own families! I realized at the end of the day that I wasn't in one picture, nor did we get a family one of the four of us.

After church we came home, Easton napped and we woke him at 4 to go to Kyle and Pam's house for an Easter egg hunt and a family dinner.

This boy loves his Grandma!

Playing before the egg hunt.

Right after the eggs were hidden, (thrown on the ground), it poured. We put the kids in rain boots and hats, donned hats and jackets and braved it anyways. Again, why are you so much taller than me, little brother?

Ready......set...........

GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

One egg.....found the candy, and I'm good.

Sweet cousins.

Love that chocolate-covered grinning face!

Cory found the Golden Egg!

It was so fun! Glad the rain let up so the kids could hunt for eggs. Cory's having a great week; Easter Sunday, his birthday on Monday, and his party is Saturday. April's a busy month for us full of fun stuff and I love it!!

Ever heard of Resurrection Eggs? We're doing them next year!

He is Risen!
Happy Easter
